Finchampstead's 228 gave the 2nd XI plenty to do, but Oliver Cummings made sure it never got out of hand. His 9 overs brought 3-21, with James Roxburgh-Smith and Chris Emes taking two wickets apiece to keep the target within reach.

The reply had a lot of fight in it. Grant Celliers' 34 gave the innings ballast, Mikey Allan-Canty's 32 kept the chase moving, and Harry D'Amaro-Field's 34 from 23 balls gave it a late spark. At 148-5 and then 188-8 there was still a route through, but Finchampstead held their nerve.

There is good context in the public cards here: three Binfield batters passed 30 and Cummings was both the most economical main bowler and part of the lower-order scrap. Not the result, but plenty of material to carry into next week.
