A midweek evening under Finchampstead skies, and for once the runs simply would not come. Binfield's Midweek 1st XI were bowled out for 80, and the game rather got away from them.
Rhys Hunt top-scored with 18 and Matt Humphrey made 13, but wickets fell too regularly for any partnership to take root. A generous 14 wides aside, there was precious little on the board to bowl at.
Finchampstead needed only 83 and made light of it, Dan Marles (33 not out) and Louis Crerar (32) guiding them home for the loss of two wickets. An eight-wicket margin that reflected the run of play.
