Beaconsfield's 272-8 was built around Shiva Golagani's 104 and Jim Slater's 57, but Binfield kept taking pieces out of the card. Potter returned 3-46 and Warren 3-48, with Chris Bullett and Kamal Gupta also taking wickets.
The chase became a proper near-miss. Folwell's 42 and Bennett's 30 gave Binfield belief, before Cowley made 34 and Edgington took the match deep with 83.
The final margin was only five runs. That will sting, but the scorecard still carries plenty: Edgington's lower-order charge, three wicketkeeping dismissals for Monty Mitchell, and two three-wicket returns with the ball.
