To : All Members
Like yourselves, as a Club, we have been following the government advice over the last week or so – keeping a close eye on developments, with the safety of all of you our foremost concern
As a result of latest updates, and following the recommendations of our various Cricket Leagues and the English Cricket Board ( ECB ) today, we are regrettably having to cancel or postpone all cricket related activities until further notice
https://www.ecb.co.uk/news/1646355/ecb-statement-on-the-recreational-game
To be clear this will have an effect on the following planned activities
All Senior , Women’s and Colts training – cancelled with immediate effect
Cricket Force Day – originally planned for Saturday 4th April – postponed until further notice
Par 3 Golf competition at Billingbear – originally planned for Friday 10th April – cancelled
Proposed pre-season Player’s meeting – originally planned for Friday 17th April – postponed until further notice
Pre-season friendlies that start from the 18th April –not cancelled yet, but highly likely that these will be cancelled too
There may well also be delays to the League Season, outdoor training and All Stars – but we will send further updates as the situation develops over the next few weeks
Regarding questions about annual subscriptions ; the Club still has significant ongoing costs such as the addition of and upkeep of machinery, ground, and all League related items – so we would encourage all Senior members ( who have not yet done so ) to still pay their Bronze or Diamond memberships as they fall due. For those that have already paid Silver or Gold (thank you ) or are thinking of doing so, we will obviously take into account any reduction in the number of games that may occur and adjust accordingly
Please stay safe and well – we hope we can get back to playing and watching the cricket that we all love as soon as is possible
The Committee
