Match report Sunday’s fixture was one were Binfield juniors came to the fore and delivered individual performances that demonstrated that the future is
indeed bright for Binfield. The not-so-junior Ian Goddard claimed his second five wicket haul of the weekend but he was well supported by
impressive bowling spells from 15 year old Harry Lee and Eddie, his 13 year old brother, who was making his senior debut. Both thoroughly deserved the two wickets they each took.

Binfield’s reply started slowly and the loss of two early wickets brought 17 year old Ali Higginson and 14 year old Callum George together at the wicket. What followed was a wonderfully mature partnership where top-quality running between the wickets and some fantastic stroke play saw the two put on 81 runs for the third wicket. It was a shame that neither reached their half century as
both were dismissed for 43 but there will be plenty more opportunities for them to do so. It was fitting that the game concluded with Harry Lee scoring the winning boundary to finish with 20 not out and cap a find all round performance
