Match report With 2 wins in 2 games the team was in buoyant mood and with Skipper on 1st XI duty and vice-captain on a trip to France it was Kamal Gupta who was appointed the stop gap skipper. With 1st XI called off and Jim Browning loss due to injury the team was boasted with the presence of Tim Vines.
It was a cloudy day and on a tricky wicket Binfield loss the toss and were put into bat. Rich Higginson and Joe Sculley opened the batting for Binfield and made a steady start putting on 25 for the 1st wicket in 10 overs. Higginson was first to go and Sculley followed soon. At 35 for 2 it was obvious that two on the crease had to bat with some responsibility. Kamal Gupta and Matt Humphrey steadied the ship and once they got in scoring became easier. Gupta went on to score a 100 and Humphrey ably supported him and scored 35. After both the batsman got out it was left to the rest to get the team to a score of around 250 and this was almost achieved as we were all out for 249 and set a target of 250 to Hurley. Tim Vines (19), Jack Collett (12), Stephen Nower (17) and Neil Jones (16) were the main contributors.

With pitch doing plenty and runs on the board Binfield started with spin from Tony Boad and Jack Collett, who had an early start to the day with a long journey to make it to the game, returning from Uni. Jack and Tony both took little time to settle into a good rhythm and wickets started to tumble. There were a few drops here and there but all in all a good fielding effort.

It was a disciplined bowling effort from our bowlers which lead to the dismissal of Hurley for a score of 153.
Jack (5/77), Tony (2/41), and Neil (2/9) were major contributors.

Thanks for a great team effort and a wonderful win which puts us in the mid table in Division 2. Well done everyone involved.
