Important - BCC Indoor Training Statement

14 Mar 2020

Good evening all,

Ahead of this weekends and future indoor training, please read the following....

We can confirm that at this stage all our indoor venues remain open and therefore all programmes will go ahead as planned until further notice.

Importantly we ask for you to use common sense, if you feel unwell, please stay at home, if you are ill and turn up you will be asked to leave.

However, within these sessions there are a few things we wish to encourage, the washing of your hands and avoiding physical contact. Also there are a few things we wish to discourage too, such as sharing cricket balls and equipment unnecessarily, especially batting helmets. We would also advise you not to apply saliva to the ball.

For those attending Sessions at Wellington College, please can we also ask you to use the hand sanitiser upon entering the building and also use the antibacterial wipes you will be supplied with to clean your cricket ball before returning to the bag.

If the national advice changes with regards to small gatherings at any point and/or if any centre or schools decide to close then we will of course react to this, follow advice and keep everyone informed. Additionally, if coaches develop symptoms and are therefore required to stay at home then we would expect players to be tolerant to the fact that sessions may not be able to continue if there is no fit and healthy coach to deliver the sessions.

Please do not feel under pressure to attend nets if you are concerned about anyone in your family who might be vunerable or at risk due to COVID19.

As and when further updates are received we will of course keep everyone informed.

Many Thanks

The Committee
