Binfield Cricket Club Won By 7 Wickets

Match report Having won the toss the decision was made to bowl first in the opening 45 over win / lose game. Finch openers got off to a flying start going at 6 an over on a good flat batting track. Change bowlers Vines and Bullett wrestled control back and the run rate started to drop, the former bowling the hard hitting Ward for 32. After this Finch lost momentum in their innings as the Binfield seamers kept the run rate in check. The innings closed on 190, Warren the best bowler picking up 3 fer. Jeffery and Sennett opened up for Binfield, Jeffery having kept wicket for the first time in 20 years was seeing the ball extremely well and started positively. He provided the back bone to the chase, Sennett fell early, and Hennessy on debut was unlucky to be adjudged LBW. Vines joined Jeffery and the 2 compiled a 100 run stand for the 3rd wicket, Vines went for 38 and it was left to Jeffery to complete the run chase and go through to his first hundred for the club, finishing on 112*. Next week sees our first home game of the season vs Cove 3rd XI
