We’re having a sort-out…
…next Monday (9th
July), from 18.00 until 20.00. We have
accumulated a lot of
“stuff” that is neither use nor ornament and
we need to sort through it and get rid
of clutter. Please do come down and lend a hand.
Chairman’s XI Last Sunday was due to be the Chairman’s
XI, but the British summer interfered. It will be
rescheduled for later in the season
and we’ll let you know the revised date.
Have you scored recently? If not (and particularly if you’d like to but
don’t know how), we want to hear from you.
On-the-job training will be given and
we are assured it’s not difficult! Both Seniors’
and Juniors’ matches would
benefit from your help. Contact Colin Canty for more
information.
BCC Juniors need more coaches
Next season, we’ll be losing several of our existing
coaches due to work commitments, and because the number of junior members
continues to increase, we do need more coaches so that groups benefit
optimally from their training sessions. BCC will pay for the coaching
courses, so if you take an interest in your child’s cricket development
and think there could be a coach in you waiting to come out, please
contact either Rob or Colin.
Howzat?
The Juniors section is very keen to recruit additional umpires.
Sometimes the managers have to umpire, which prohibits them from giving
any advice to their teams. Please contact Colin or Rob if you are able to
help – there are plenty of friendlies left this season. Is your kit past its prime?
If your whites have seen better days, why not treat yourself
to a new-style shirt? The Juniors have been modelling theirs (white with
burgundy piping and the BCC badge), and Seniors’ shirts are now
available, priced £16. And if your white shirt is fine,
how about a BCC polo shirt? At £12, they are
available in white, navy, burgundy or green and all feature
the BCC badge. Contact Colin to get yours.
Morrant Chilterns League news
Cookham Dean CC has given notice that it will be leaving
the Chilterns League at the end of this
season. Hawridge & Cholesbury at Cholesbury Common
(near Chesham) has been accepted for
membership from next season, which means that the
number of member clubs stays at 20.
Hawridge & Cholesbury was founded in 1885 and its 1st XI currently
plays in the Premier Division of
Kookaburra Mid Bucks Cricket League. The 2nd XI plays in
the Third Division and the club also plays mixed-ability Sunday
friendlies.
